Thank you for your interest in the Georgia Association for Home Health Agencies, Inc. (GAHHA). With your membership you will receive specialized information and guidance on rules and regulations for the State of Georgia, in addition to adept advocacy in the Georgia legislature. As we move forward together we will continue to be a strong advocate, enabling you to thrive and better serve your patients.
GAHHA Membership Classes:
- Home Health Provider: Available to Medicare Certified Home Health agencies duly licensed by the Department of Human Resources, Office of Regulatory Services, whose primary purpose is the provision of health care services to those who are sick, disabled or infirm in the home setting.
- Hospice Provider: Available to hospices duly licensed by the Department of Human Resources, Office of Regulatory Services, for the provision of hospice services to the terminally ill.
- Corporate Provider: Available to corporations with ownership and/or control over multiple Medicare certified home health agencies and/or hospices.
- Associate: Available to those entities engaged in the provision of home medical equipment, consultation services and/or other services related to the home care industry and to individuals who desire to affiliate with the Association. Associate membership shall not be available to any entity which meets the qualifications of either a Home Health, Hospice or Corporate Provider nor any officer, director or employee of said entity.
GAHHA Members Receive:

Members Should Know:
- GAHHA dues may be included for cost reporting purposes under Medicare (see PRM-15 Section 2138).
- GAHHA dues are considered an ordinary and necessary business expense and are deductible under the Internal Revenue Code.
- GAHHA dues payments are not tax deductible as charitable contributions as specified with Notice 88-120 Sections 501(c)5 and (c)6.
- Medicare disallows dues used for lobbying activities; however, GAHHA only uses earned revenue, not any dues revenue for lobbying expenses.
- The Internal Revenue Code limits the amount of business expense deductions for dues paid to an association that engages in lobbying activities even if dues are not used for lobbying; the amount excluded for 2006 is 5% based on IRS criteria.
Membership begins with receipt of payment and renewable July 1. GAHHA dues are non-refundable and written notification is required for membership cancellation. To be eligible for GAHHA Provider Membership the organization must operate within the State of Georgia.
